Gift In A Jar Fundraiser

This Jar Sale idea from a reader would be great for school or church...

The school my daughter attended up until Grade 6 has an interesting thing they do around Easter. They have a Jar Sale. They ask every child to bring in 2 jars or containers of some type, with just a few little items in it that would appeal to kids. Then each child is entitled to purchase one jar for $1. The money goes towards school activities. By bringing in 2 jars each, there should be enough for all.

What I put in them is some Easter grass to cushion the bottom, then I put in things like nail polish, play jewelry, sidewalk chalk, skipping ropes, etc for girls, and for the boys, I get those little Matchbox type cars, sidewalk chalk, wrapped candy, yo-yos, things like that.

That is just an example of some of the interesting things I have heard about. It's a cool idea and it does go over really well. The stuff in the baskets or jars is strictly inexpensive stuff. I used to crochet scrunchies to put in them too.

Heart4Home Comment: Seems that recycled jars would work great for this!
