KISS Crockpot Roast

Rating: 5

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 6 hours

Ingredients

  • 3-4 pound beef rump or chuck roast
  • salt and pepper
  • favorite seasonings--garlic, bay leaf, etc
  • onion, chopped
  • carrots, potatoes--optional

Instructions

  1. Rinse roast and pat dry. (I use a paper towel)
  2. Sprinkle with seasoned flour--or sprinkle with salt and pepper and lightly cover in all purpose flour.
  3. Quickly brown roast in a frying pan. I do this in a non-stick skillet with a tablespoon of olive oil.
  4. Add about an inch of water to the crockpot. (I use a 6-quart crockpot)
  5. Add some garlic, salt, bay leaf, onion and maybe other vegetables.
  6. Add the roast to the crockpot and put the lid on.
  7. If I do this early in the AM I leave my crockpot on a low setting. I sometimes do this around noon and then I leave the crockpot on high.
  8. Either way, by dinner time I have this incredible piece of soft meat that falls apart and that is just delicious.
